About

In April 2022, Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the following 8 months, Maria faced a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, a total hysterectomy, and her first of three reconstruction surgeries. From this difficult and life altering time, a love of design was reignited. In June 2023, Maria launched her new business, Fleur Sauvage.

Maria divides her time between homeschooling her son, creating for Fleur Sauvage, sharing her love of classic style on Maria Confer, navigating her newfound state of menopause, and traveling the world for inspiration.

Maria Confer has lived all over the United States, from New England to the Rocky Mountains and in-between, which is reflected in both her designs and her style. Maria is back in her home state and currently lives in Birmingham, MI with her husband of 20 years, 10 year old son, and two rescue pups.
